A biblical story is getting new life thanks to new evidence of Noah’s ark.

They unearthed an ancient shoreline.
Well, we actually dated it about 5,000 BC.
[Music] For ages, people have been enthralled with the story of Noah’s Ark, a gigantic ship designed to withstand a devastating deluge and preserve the last vestigages of both human and animal existence.
This antique ship has long been considered the holy grail of archaeological discoveries.
However, what if you learn that brand new information has emerged, disclosing startling details regarding the ark’s last resting place?
What does this finding indicate about the veracity of Noah’s account?
In this episode, we will explain in more detail.

And let’s get started.
An innovative finding.
For centuries, the search for Noah’s Ark has captivated the imagination of explorers and archaeologists.
On September 11th, 1959, Captain Ilhan Durupanar of the Turkish Army was reviewing approximately 10,000 aerial photographs when he noticed something unusual.
One of the images taken above the Ararat Mountains in eastern Turkey revealed an object shaped like an ark.
Convinced that this structure was not naturally formed, Durupanar measured its dimensions and concluded that it could be the remains of Noah’s ark.
The location and size appeared to align with the biblical description.
This prompted an expedition to the Aurorit Mountains the following year.
The team successfully identified the boatlike structure seen in the photograph, and their discovery was published in Life magazine on September 5th, 1960.
The article piqu the interest of Ronald E.
Wyatt, a Tennessee based anesthetist who believed the site merited further investigation.
In the 1980s, Wyatt used ground penetrating radar and other equipment to examine the site.
Although the radar had limited depth, it detected vertical wall-like formations within the ship-shaped structure, leading Wyatt to speculate that it was man-made.
During one scan, the radar picked up a square- shaped object inside the structure, which the Turkish military later excavated.
The specimen was sent to Galbra Laboratories in the US where tests revealed organic carbon indicating that the material was consistent with petrified wood.
Wyatt also uncovered a large metallic object resembling a rivet near the ark.
Tests performed by Tatian Alvac Laboratories confirmed the metal’s complex composition, including aluminum, a material that does not naturally occur in its pure form, suggesting it was man-made.
Based on his research, Wyatt theorized that the ark initially landed higher on the hillside, but over time it was carried down the mountain by a mudslide or lava flow.
Its journey was stopped by a large rock outcrop which pierced its right side, anchoring it in place where it was later buried by mud and preserved.
In October 1990, Wyatt and Richard Reeves began a mini excavation using specially designed shovels to carefully remove the weathered material around the ship’s ribs.
The newly uncovered rib structures stood out against the surrounding darker soil.
They revealed 10 ribs in total.
These rib indentations remain visible to this day, especially at the rear of the ship.
Despite these discoveries, the full size and depth of the structure beneath the surface remained largely unknown.
Resistivity imaging.
Recently, the Turkish government permitted John Larson to conduct a scan of the Noah’s Arc site using cuttingedge deep penetration resistivity ground imaging technology.
This marked the first time such advanced equipment capable of scanning up to 38 m below the surface was utilized at the site.
With this technology, researchers were able to capture the full three-dimensional structure of the ship buried underground, surpassing the capabilities of standard ground penetrating radar.
Originally developed in the 1920s for oil and mineral exploration, resistivity imaging has seen significant advancements, making it an essential tool in modern archaeology.
The data gathered from resistivity scans involve hundreds of measurements of the ground’s resistance at various depths and locations, offering a detailed view without the need for excavation.
Since different materials have unique electrical properties, the technology allows researchers to visualize variations in the ground’s composition or structure.
Larsson, assisted by Randall Lee, gathered detailed resistivity data at the site, revealing a side elevation of the ship-shaped object.
Further analysis of the hull shape in three dimensions revealed that the buried front section resembled a symmetrical ship with a deep hole design.
According to biblical descriptions, Noah’s ark was constructed with three decks and the resistivity imaging made it possible to view individual levels of resistance within the data.
Upon examining the ship’s inner structure, three distinct flat surfaces were observed which extended across the width of the ship corresponding to the three decks described in the Bible.
While these findings generated excitement, not everyone is convinced.
Did archaeologists really find the real Noah’s ark?
Researchers from a trio of universities in Turkey and the United States spent about a year analyzing rocks and soil in the famous Durupanar formation on Mount Ararat, the highest mountain in Turkey.
They believe the ark-shaped site may contain the remains of the legendary Noah’s ark.
The biblical story of Noah tells of God instructing Noah to build a giant ark to save his family and animal pairs from an impending flood intended to destroy evil and wickedness.
Evil is spreading on Earth.
Noah’s ark is said to have landed in the Ararat Mountains after a 150day flood about 5,000 years ago.
Researchers now believe they have found evidence of human activity near the mountains boat formation from around 5,500 to 3000 BC.
Farukqa, AICU vice chancellor, said that analysis of rocks and soil from the uniquely shaped area on the mountain showed human activity in the area dating back to the years after the legendary flood of Noah’s ark.
In terms of chronology, it is said that there was also life in this area.
Kaia said, “However, human activity is not supported by the Bible.
The Durupinar Formation has been considered a potential resting place for the ark for many years and has received widespread attention from those hoping to find Noah’s ark.
Despite the hype, archaeologists have consistently asserted over the years that the formation is natural, not the result of a petrified shipwreck, and there is no geological record about a global flood like the one described in religious texts.
Some believe more localized flooding is possible, but that too is controversial.
The Mesha mountain.
David Allen Deal’s theory about the final resting place of Noah’s ark differs significantly from the traditional account of it being on Mount Ararat.
According to Deal, the ark landed on a mountain known as Mashu or Masha Mountain, situated 17 mi south of Mount Ararat.
He bases this belief on linguistic analysis in ancient texts such as the epic of Gilgamesh.
Deal posits that the ark initially came to rest at a high elevation of 7,400 ft and that Noah and his family established the first post flood city Messa Nakuan at this location utilizing parts of the ark over time.
Deal suggests natural events like earthquakes and rain cause the ark to descend the mountain leaving traces along its path.
His theory is detailed, proposing that the flood survivors use the ark’s materials to construct their new homes with wood for structures and tar for waterproofing roofs.
During his expeditions in 1996 and 1997, deal discovered ancient habitation sites and identified the wall of heaven at the proposed landing location.
The alignment of place names around Masher Dog Mountain with the story of the ark further bolsters his hypothesis.
Deal also examined ancient images and sculptures depicting figures from the Genesis narrative, focusing on a woman named Nama linked to the mountain.
He believes these artifacts bridge ancient stories with the biblical account of the ark.
While Deal’s hypothesis is intriguing and well supported with various details and reasoning, it remains one among many theories regarding the ark’s final resting place.
Despite the compelling nature of his evidence and arguments, the scientific community maintains that more research is necessary to confirm or refute these claims.
When investigating ancient events and narratives intertwine with cultural beliefs, thorough and careful examination is crucial to ascertain the truth.
Messa Mountain whispers secrets, promising to unveil a tale long lost to time.

The names of local places such as Messa meaning pulled out of water and Nakshwan interpreted as Noah Zion appear to support his narrative.
Additionally, the mountain features two peaks resembling a wall referred to as the wall of heaven in the epic of Gilgamesh, which Deal associates with the ark’s initial landing site.

[Music] is evidence of a massive flood about 7,000 years ago which is when the Bible situ finding Noah’s ark was like discovering a lost piece of history.
At one stage in our evolution, the ancient woodwork was the only thing standing between us and ultimate annihilation.
Archaeologists discovered an ancient outline of this enigma carved into the slopes of a Turkish mountain, which became one of the most significant discoveries of the 21st century.
However, beyond the ark’s ruins, investigators discovered something even more frightening.
What incredible things have scientists discovered regarding Noah’s Ark?
How does this revelation alter our cosmic timeline and understanding of humanity’s past?

And let’s get started.
The amazing discovery about Noah’s Ark.
For decades, researchers, archaeologists, and Bible scholars have scoured the globe in search of Noah’s Ark.
A fascinating vessel of immense historical and religious significance.
This ancient structure is said to hold the story of humanity’s rebirth following a devastating flood that obliterated life on Earth.
The tale of this catastrophic deluge lasting 40 days and 40 nights is recounted in the sacred texts of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, describing how Noah along with the people and animals aboard his ark survived the destruction.
Despite the detailed narrative provided by the Christian Bible, the scientific community has long been skeptical, lacking substantial evidence to support the occurrence of such an apocalyptic event.
However, the discovery of an ancient formation in Turkey, closely resembling the biblical description of Noah’s Ark, has changed the conversation.
This extraordinary find situated on a mountain reminiscent of the ark’s final resting places, as mentioned in the Bible, has sparked immense excitement.
The discovery, nestled in the Turkish mountains, has been widely regarded as the most compelling evidence yet of Noah’s Ark, sending ripples through the Christian community.
We’re sure you’re wondering, is Noah’s ark constructed of wood?
According to Bible scholars, the great flood is believed to have occurred around 5,000 years ago.
Over such a long period, any wooden structure would likely have decayed or transformed into something quite different.
The Durupiner Formation, which is boatshaped, fits the presumed dimensions of Noah’s ark.
515 ft in length, 85 ft in width, and 49 ft in height.
This archaeological find dated between 3000 and 5000 BC is considered the closest match to Noah’s Ark ever discovered.
Noah’s Ark was an enormous vessel unparalleled by anything of its time.
According to biblical legend, there had been no rainfall or floods on Earth before.
The concept of building a massive boat to preserve life seemed utterly absurd.
Nonetheless, Noah undertook the immense task of constructing this giant structure alone, a project that took 120 years.
The initial plans specified the use of gopher wood and included a single door and window.
Noah’s efforts went beyond building the ark.
He also warned his contemporaries of the impending disaster and amassed vast quantities of food for the forthcoming voyage.
When Noah finally completed the ark, an astonishing event unfolded.
In a memerizing display, pairs of every animal species made their way into the ark as if forewarned of the looming catastrophe.
After the animals had entered, the Bible recounts that God sealed Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives inside the ark before the torrential rains began.
The catastrophic rainfall lasted 40 days, followed by floods that persisted for a staggering 371 days.
Ultimately, Noah’s ark came to rest on Mount Ararat, remaining there until the waters receded and the family and animals could disembark into a renewed world, Mount Ararat.
Although the Christian holy scripture expressly specifies Ararat as the ark’s last resting place, the Durupinar building on Java remains the most credible evidence of Noah’s ark to have ever been discovered.
Many aspects of the Christian church have embraced this geological feature as the ark’s remains, ignoring the warning signs.
Ronald Elden Wyatt, a late American nurse in Esodus, was an early proponent of the Durupinar structure after discovering it in 1986.
The eager American was known for his numerous supposed Bible related discoveries.
Until his death in 1999, he had completed over 100 expeditions and discovered numerous Bible archaeology sites and relics.
Believe it or not, this passionate researcher has faced heavy criticism from other archaeologists and scholars.
Many argue that he is not qualified to be an archaeologist and was not the first to discover the Durupanar structure.
Wyatt was accused of not conducting any legally licensed excavations.
But this did not stop him from publishing his findings, including the Durupinar structure.
The only contradiction in this discovery is that it is not located where many people think it should be.
The Durupinar structure is on Mount Tenderek, a small volcano in the far east of Turkey, 500 meters from the capital.
As mentioned earlier, the final resting place of Noah’s ark recorded in religious books such as the Bible is Mount Ararat in Turkai.
However, after centuries of searching and excavation, nothing resembling Noah’s ark has been found on this volcano.
Many people have claimed to find pieces of wood and other small insignificant objects.
None as large as the legendary Noah’s ark.
The only thing close to Noah’s ark in this discovery is the mysterious durupinar structure.
Considering that the Durupanar structure is also located south of Mount Ararat, this adds further weight to the conviction that this is indeed the lost remains of the ark.
Therefore, many theories have emerged to explain the mystery of how the ark moved from the top of Ararat, as stated in the Bible, to this new location not too far away.
Some researchers argue that the structure was naturally formed and is not the remains of any type of man-made boat.
These research groups believe that the fact that Durupinar is shaped like a boat is just a coincidence.
In fact, some researchers believe that the landing site of Noah’s ark was completely different than what we once thought.
Many theories have emerged over the years to prove that Mount Ararat is not the ark’s landing site.
Theories regarding the location of Noah’s ark.
One theory suggests that Ararat might be a mythical location rather than a physical one.
While the Bible mentions Ararat as the final resting place of the ark, it may not actually refer to Mount Ararat in Turkey.
Another theory proposes that the names of the mountains have been confused over the years.
And it is possible that Mount Tenderek is the actual Ararat mentioned in the Bible.
Additionally, some theories speculate that something or someone moved the last remnants of the ark.
Many famous archaeologists, including 19th century figures like James Bryce, have reported finding pieces of wood high on the Ararat volcano.
This suggests that Ararat might have been the initial resting place of the ark, but thousands of years ago, it slid down from the top of the mountain to another nearby location.
These strange and controversial theories are suggested by renowned researcher and author David Allen Deal.
Deal argues that ancient texts like the epic of Gilgamesh should not be taken literally.
He posits a radical theory that Noah’s ark may have landed on another mountain called Mashu or Mount Mesha near Ararat.
Deal also suggests that Noah and his family might have used parts of the ark to build their first house after the flood, which could explain why pieces of wood have been found at locations like Mount Ararat.
Deal’s theory of Mount Messa as the final resting place of the ark is intriguing, especially considering that the names Messa and Nashwan mean drawn out of the water and Noah’s Zion, respectively.
This mysterious mountain also has two peaks that resemble a wall, which was cited in the epic of Gilgamesh as the landing place of Noah’s ark.
While exploring this strange location in 1996 and 1997, Deal discovered many surrounding villages and sites with names that seem to tell a story about Noah’s Ark landing there.
However, although Deal proposed Mount Misha as the final resting place of Noah’s Ark, no significant findings were made there.
At least nothing as substantial as the Durupinar structure.
Early proponents of the Durapiner structure, such as Wyatt, proposed their own explanations for why the ark was not found on the famous Mount Ararat.
Wyatt suggested that a severe mudslide might have swept the ark into the surrounding landscape, relocating it to Mount Tenderek.
Intriguingly, Wyatt discovered something unusual at the Durapiner site that convinced him of its authenticity.
He found a small boat-shaped stone with eight faces carved on it.
For Wyatt, this stone was a crucial piece of evidence supporting his theory.
He believed it was a memorial, as ancient biblical cultures often erected monuments or structures for remembrance, such as altars for sacrifice and memorials after epic battles and encounters.
According to Wyatt, the eight faces symbolize the eight members of Noah’s household who survived the catastrophe and became the world’s second parents after Adam and Eve.
Additionally, Wyatt discovered strange metallic objects made of magnesium, titanium, and aluminum, which were later confirmed to be metal rivets used for the ships.
A team of archaeologists from Turkey and US colleges has investigated the Durupiner formation, searching for more clues or convincing relics hidden within.
Their excavations revealed remarkable evidence of human activity, including a boat-shaped formation dating back to nearly 5,000 BC.
Feric K, a professor at Agri Ibrahim C University involved in this research, reported that the analysis of soil and rock samples indicated human activity dating back to the years following the flood.
He noted that in terms of dating, it was evident that life existed in this region as well as revealed by the laboratory results.
However, beyond merely uncovering signs of life, the dedicated team of researchers stumbled upon something truly intriguing that dramatically altered the narrative.
With the aid of advanced technology, the team discovered something remarkable.
Rock and soil samples containing marine materials and seafood dating back to the time of the flood.
They collected nearly 30 samples from the enigmatic site and analyzed them at Istanbul Technical University.
The results revealed that the samples date back to at least 3000 BC and indicated human activity spanning from that period to around 5,000 BC.
Given that Noah’s flood is estimated to have occurred around 5,000 years ago, experts now speculate that this site may hold more significance than initially apparent, possibly representing the remnants of the lost ark of Noah.
However, not all researchers agree with this interpretation.
One notable skeptic is Irving Finley, who has devoted his life to studying ancient Mesopotamian clay tablets and is known for his controversial theories.
Finley acknowledges the flood story, but contends that the biblical account is a diluted version of earlier Sumerian and Babylonian narratives.
According to Finley, the true details of the flood are contained in a four 0000year-old clay tablet he refers to as the ark tablet.
After spending about 20 years translating the text, Finley made several groundbreaking discoveries.
The tablet described the ark not as a canoe as traditionally depicted, but as round in shape.
Finley remarked, “The discovery of the ark’s shape is the most surprising finding.
It defies what most people have always imagined.”
This revelation has been one of the most shocking in his 44 year career.
Finley is eager to share his findings and even authored a book on the subject.
His discovery has stirred excitement within the Christian community while leaving many scientists who previously dismissed the story searching for answers.
Despite the prevalence of flood accounts in ancient texts which support the idea of a cataclysmic event, concrete evidence is still debated.
For instance, archaeologists have occasionally found remnants of seaweed and sea creature fossils in high altitude soil samples.
These findings suggest that these elevated regions were once submerged under a vast ocean or sea.
Nonetheless, questions remain.
Is this evidence sufficient to confirm that an immense volume of water once wre havoc on the world?
Let us tell you another story about Noah’s ark.
In ancient Hawaii, there’s a well-known legend about a figure named New who constructed a large canoe to escape a great flood and eventually ended up at top a mountain.
Similarly, the Atrahasis epic dating back to the 19th century shares striking parallels with the biblical flood narrative.
This epic recounts how the world was reset after a catastrophic flood and mentions a 7-day warning before the event.
These various flood stories originating from different times and cultures intertwine to create a complex and captivating narrative.
Despite their cultural differences and specific details, they all depict a dramatic end of world event followed by a new beginning for life on Earth.
Noah’s arc in particular holds a special place in the hearts of millions globally.
This reverence has led thousands to embark on private expeditions to Mount Ararat in hopes of uncovering its secrets.
The popularity of the Duruper structure, a site that some believe could be linked to the ark, has also surged rapidly.
The sheer scale of the flood described in the Bible’s book of Genesis is staggering.
It claims that the waters exceeded the highest mountains by 15 cubits or about 22 ft.
This would mean even Mount Everest at 29,000 ft could not withstand such a deluge.
Some conspiracy theorists suggest that this monumental disaster might have contributed to the extinction of mythical creatures such as dinosaurs, dragons, werewolves, and giant Nephilim.
Researchers proposed that the magnitude of the flood would have required the volume of water from two world oceans to be poured onto the earth over 40 days.
Skeptics raised doubts about the feasibility of Noah’s ark, questioning how one man and his family could sustain and manage thousands of animals for over 300 days.
They ask how they managed feeding the animals, disposing of waste, and maintaining the vessel without it sinking.
Many experts find it implausible that Noah and his family could have survived in a sealed boat for such a long period without succumbing to suffocation.
Despite skepticism, many in the Christian community hold steadfast to the story of Noah and the ark as a profound testament to divine power.
The desire to see the ark, even a fragment of it, remains strong.
This passion inspired Ken Ham to undertake an ambitious project recreating Noah’s ark in a small area of Kentucky.
This multi-million dollar endeavor featuring intricate woodwork and impressive architecture is a modern-day replica of the Ark based on the dimensions described in religious texts.
The site, known as the Ark Encounter, includes a theme park and attracts over 1.5 million visitors annually.
It spans more than 800 acres and offers a journey back in time to the era of the Great Flood.
Ken Ham has even bigger plans for the Ark Encounter, aiming to recreate other notable Bible stories, such as the Tower of Babel and an ancient model of Jerusalem.
Despite the extensive knowledge we have about the great flood, many questions remain about the fate of the ark afterward.
Was it dismantled by Noah and his family to build homes and infrastructure?
Or did some unforeseen tragedy erase this legendary vessel from history?
The mysteries surrounding the ark continue to intrigue and elude definitive answers.
Biblical archaeology.
The Bible describes people, places, and events spanning thousands of years.
It claims to be the inherent word of God true in every detail.
Does archaeological evidence confirm biblical accounts?
Or does the Bible fail to hold up to historical scrutiny?
The Bible and archaeology.
Archaeology is the scientific study of peoples and cultures from the past.
It is based on the analysis of artifacts, inscriptions, and other remains from previous societies.
Biblical archaeology is more narrowly focused on the civilizations and events described in the Bible.
As one might expect, the field of biblical archaeology can often be controversial.
After all, many biblical passages describe things so incredible that some people view them as better suited for a work of science fiction than as a target of scientific inquiry.
Consider just a few of the amazing events in the Bible.
A great flood destroyed all human life on the earth with the exception of eight people, Noah and his family, who were entrusted with the care of a variety of animals.
These survivors waited for the flood to subside while living in a giant ark.
A group of slaves, the Israelites, were in harsh bondage to Egypt, a powerful nation.
The God of the Israelites freed them from slavery by inflicting a series of devastating plagues on the Egyptians.
The Israelites were then trapped by the Red Sea only to have the waters miraculously parted so that they could walk through.
After which the waters closed back on the Egyptians, drowning them.
Jesus Christ, a divine member of the God family, willingly gave up his glory and came to this earth as a human being where he was born of a virgin.
As God in the flesh, Christ sacrificed himself to pay the penalty for the sins of all humanity before being resurrected three days and three nights later.
Examples such as the above lead some people to assume that the Bible is merely a collection of fanciful tales with no historical accuracy.
However, contrary to that misconception, archaeology has repeatedly verified many of the biblical accounts.
Now, an interesting aspect of this conclusion was that the criticism of the Bible’s historical accuracy was not based on definitive findings contradicting biblical accounts, but rather on assumptions, estimates of dates, and a lack of archaeological evidence.
For example, the story of the Exodus describes so many miraculous events that scholars often dismiss it as myth without giving it serious consideration.
The story of the Israelites conquest of Canaan under Joshua is doubted because many historians believe it would have occurred in the 13th century BC more than a century later than the dating indicated by biblical chronology and no evidence of destruction in that area had been uncovered for that time period.
However, the Time article admits that a single discovery could erase all doubts about the Exodus or the sacking of Jericho or just about anything else in the Bible and that even without such discoveries, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Some interesting archaeological discoveries.
Although there has been no definitive secular verification of some of the miraculous events mentioned earlier, such as the Exodus, numerous accounts in the Bible have been corroborated by archaeological finds.
These discoveries often overturn widespread beliefs that certain biblical people or events were fictional.
Here are just a few of the discoveries.
Assyria was described as a powerful empire in the Old Testament.
And yet, by the time of Jesus Christ, all physical evidence of its existence had seemingly vanished.
As the centuries progressed, the Bible contained the only record of the Assyrian Empire and of Nineveh, one of its capitals.
This changed in the 19th century when Paul Emil Bakta and Sir Austin Henry Leard uncovered the remains of Assyrian cities, including Nineveh.
In the 1970s, archaeologist Naman Avigad discovered the Israelite tower in Jerusalem, which would have been part of the city’s fortifications.
Avagad also found four arrowheads at the site.
For one of the arrowheads, he was able to narrow down the date ranges during which it would have been used, leading to the conclusion that it came from the Babylonian siege in the 6th century BC.
This supports the biblical account of the destruction of Jerusalem.
The pool of Salem was the location to which Jesus Christ sent a blind man to wash himself.
John 9:17.
Steps leading to the pool were uncovered during an excavation in 2004, and the discovery of the pool was formally announced in 2005.
This find added historical credibility to John’s gospel account.
Time and time again, archaeological finds have confirmed many biblical accounts.
There have been a number of cases where the Bible has provided seemingly insignificant details of people, places, or societies that were later found to accurately reflect the time and environment in which the particular verses were written.
Contrary to the mistaken idea that the Bible is merely a collection of myths and deserves no archaeological credibility, biblical history has proven to be so reliable that some archaeologists devote themselves to the task of studying and excavating locations in the Middle East with the purpose of comparing their findings to the Bible.
So, what should all of this mean to you?
Although many biblical accounts have been confirmed, there are also many miraculous events described in the Bible that have little or no archaeological verification.
Does a failure to definitively corroborate events such as the Exodus negate any value provided by biblical archaeology?
First, we should ensure that we understand the limits of biblical archaeology.
For example, the Bible shows that Jesus Christ existed eternally as a divine member of the God family before coming down to this earth as a human being.
Currently, the archaeological evidence that Christ was God in the flesh can be found in eyewitness accounts from those with whom he interacted and to whom he demonstrated his power.
The Bible contains several such accounts.
However, those who are skeptical of the Bible’s claims will likely remain unconvinced by the unearthing of additional firsthand accounts from the time of Christ.
Similarly, there are many different stories of the flood that have been uncovered.
Not only the biblical description, but also versions from other cultures and religions.
Although the widespread abundance of these stories indicates that the event actually did happen, people often dismiss them all as mere myths.
When it comes to miraculous occurrences, archaeology has its limits in terms of convincing the skeptics, archaeology, and fulfilled prophecy.
However, that does not mean the value of biblical archaeology is limited to only verifying the ordinary occurrences in the Bible.
One of the key proofs of the Bible is fulfilled prophecy.
God uses his human servants to announce events in advance and then those events actually take place at some point in the future.
As mentioned earlier, many biblical passages contain seemingly insignificant details that would typically only be known by people who were living at that particular time.
Details that only come to light centuries or millennia later due to the work of archaeologists.
When it comes to the writings of biblical prophets, archaeological verification of these details can help to confirm that the prophets actually wrote before the corresponding events occurred.
Archaeology and the scientific knowledge in the Bible.
Similarly, archaeology can draw a sharp contrast between the advanced scientific knowledge demonstrated in the Bible and the knowledge of the other nations that existed during the time of various biblical events.
For example, ancient Egypt was a powerful nation that held the Israelites in slavery.
And yet, the Evers Papyrus, an Egyptian medical text from around 1500 BC, demonstrates an incredible lack of medical knowledge from the Egyptians.
Remedies prescribed by the Egyptians included beetle shells, pig eyes, and dog toes.
And there is a huge difference between these practices and the laws of quarantine and sanitation that God gave to the Israelites.
Laws that are still valid in principle today.
Archaeology can demonstrate that the Bible contains scientific knowledge that was far ahead of its time, which would be expected from the word of God, who created this physical universe and all things in it.
Our personal responsibility.
Although archaeological evidence can potentially be used to verify various aspects of the Bible to those who are skeptical, the truth of the matter is that biblical archaeology is often held to a much higher standard than other more widely accepted areas of scientific inquiry.
Biblical critics contend that there is a lack of archaeological evidence for many of the prominent people, places, and events in the Bible.
However, a similar criticism can be leveled against the gaps in the fossil record which demonstrate a lack of evidence in support of the theory of evolution.
And yet, evolution is still viewed by many as a scientific fact.
Similarly, biblical critics argue that many of the miraculous events described in the Bible seem impossible.
However, many scientists accept this fact that life on this earth originated from something that was not living and that the non-living matter simply appeared from somewhere, a combination of events that seem impossible.
Ultimately, some people will remain skeptical of the truth of the Bible regardless of what archaeologists discover.
The question that we each should answer is this.
How much physical proof do I need before I become willing to believe that the Bible is not simply a collection of stories, but rather the inspired word of God?
There has been ample archaeological evidence that has already corroborated many of the biblical accounts, and work in this area continues to progress.
But although biblical archaeology is a valuable tool in verifying the truth of the scriptures, the real key to creating a meaningful and lasting history of our own is to accept that truth and to develop a living faith in God, the author of the Bible.
Some modern critics question the Bible’s historical accuracy, its scientific validity, and its prophetic predictions.
Many point to apparent discrepancies and contradictions that they believe exist in the Bible.
How does the Bible answer the critics?
Do we just have to take the Bible on faith?
The Bible does extol the importance of faith in giving solid evidence of our beliefs.
Hebrews 11:1.
But the Bible doesn’t leave us without evidence that is available even to those who do not yet believe.
In fact, Paul encourages people to test all things.
Hold fast what is good.
1 Thessalonians 5:21.
How can we test and prove the validity of the scriptures?
There are a number of ways.
Study biblical archaeology.
Compare the Bible and science with an open mind.
Study fulfilled prophecies.
Examine apparent contradictions carefully.
Try it out.
Applying the wisdom of the Bible to your everyday life is a vitally important way to prove the Bible to yourself.
God wants us to prove whether his way works by doing it.
Malachi 3:10.
He wants us to pray to him for help according to his will and to have our faith strengthened by answered prayers.
As we do what he says to do, we will grow in understanding.
Psalm 111:10.
Does God forget our sins?
Forgive and forget is a common phrase in English, which some date back to the 1300s.
Many also believe it is biblical.
Some believe God forgives and forgets, and that we should, too.
But does God forget our sins?
If so, why did someone like David who repented and was forgiven still have to face the consequences of his sin with Basheba?
2 Samuel 12:13 14.
It is common to believe that once God forgives our sins, he also completely forgets them.
Our sins are often quite embarrassing and troubling to us.
And since we want to forget them, we want God to forget them, too.
But is that exactly what the Bible says happens?
The implications of forgive and forget.
There are actually two parts to this question.
One, once we have repented, does God purge his memory of any and all sins so that forgiven transgressions do not exist in his mind and cannot ever be recalled?
Two, God is our example in everything, including forgiveness.
So if true forgiveness required us to purge a memory from our minds, would it then mean we have not truly forgiven if we still recalled an offense or sin against us?
Jesus Christ stated, “But if you do not forgive, neither will your father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
Mark 11:26.
Therefore, this question is an important one for us to answer and have correct.
God clearly forgives, but many have asked if he really does completely forget.
There are several passages that seem to indicate that God does indeed remove all knowledge of repented sins from his mind.
Psalm 25:7, “Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions, according to your mercy.
Remember me for your goodness sake, O Lord.”
Jeremiah 31:34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor and every man his brother, saying, “Know the Lord.
For they all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord.
For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.
Ezekiel 18:22, None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him, because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live.
Hebrews 8:12, which is a quote of Jeremiah 31 34 and is repeated in Hebrews 10:17.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.
However, consider that the Bible nowhere says God will forget our sins, only that he will not remember them.
This distinction becomes clear when we understand what the Hebrew words for remember and forget really mean.
Meaning of remember in the Bible.
In English, the word remember generally focuses on the idea of recalling memories or bringing past matters to mind.
Mryiam Webster’s collegiate dictionary defines it as to bring to mind or think of again.
In English, to forget is the exact opposite.
To fail to be able to bring a memory to mind or as Miriam Webster says, to lose the remembrance of, be unable to think of or recall.
It is entirely a mental exercise whether or not information is present.
In Hebrew, it is not that way.
The primary word for remember in Hebrew is zakur, but the meaning is much broader than the common definition in English.
It includes both bringing a thought to mind and the actions that are taken as a result of remembering.
It can often imply that a person did a favor for someone or honored a promise or covenant.
For example, note the following two verses where zakar is used.
Then God remembered Noah and every living thing and all the animals that were with him in the ark.
And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
Genesis 8:1.
Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.
Genesis 30:22.
Obviously, God did not forget about either Noah or Rachel, but he remembered in that he took action and intervened in their lives.
Meaning of forget in the Bible.
There are two primary words for forget in Hebrew, shakage and nasha, but they are not exact opposites of zak.
To forget in Hebrew also means to ignore, neglect, forsake, or act in willful disregard of a person or promise.
Israel was warned often not to forget God, as in Deuteronomy 4:23, “Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which the Lord your God has forbidden you.”
To forget the covenant was more than just erasing the memory of it, but included the actions of forsaking and disregarding it.
So when God said he would utterly forget you and forsake you and the city that I gave you in your fathers and will cast you out of my presence, Jeremiah 23:39, he was saying that he would no longer honor the covenant with them because they had broken it.
God would cease to intervene on their behalf, not erase knowledge of them from his memory.
God chooses not to remember.
Choosing not to remember means God will not take action against us because of sins we have repented of.
He deliberately chooses not to exact due punishment for our sins but treats us with grace and forgiveness.
If we understand the language in which the Bible was written, the Greek wording of the New Testament carries a similar distinction in meanings.
We can see that when God chooses never to remember our sins again, it means he has chosen to purge them from our record or treat us as if the sins never existed.
Since remembering implies actions, in this case, vengeance and punishment, then choosing not to remember means God will not take action against us because of sins we have repented of.
He deliberately chooses not to exact due punishment for our sins, but treats us with grace and forgiveness.
If God does indeed remove all knowledge of our sins from his mind, then how did he inspire the Bible to be written, including the sins of David, Abraham, Joseph, Peter, Paul, etc.
Long after the men had sinned, repented, and in some cases died.
And what about David’s punishment?
Why did God still allow the death of David’s son after he had forgiven David’s sin?
Because we find that punishment is a powerful learning tool and God never promises to remove from us the natural consequences of our sins.
David needed to learn the lesson so powerfully he would never repeat it.
And those who saw David’s actions also needed to learn.
Frankly, we still need to learn that lesson today.
Can we forgive and forget?
To sum this all up, how are we expected to apply these principles?
Human beings do not have the ability to completely erase many of our experiences from our memories.
Small offenses and slights will generally disappear from our memories with time.
But large and serious offenses generally will not.
The big difference is that God can do this perfectly.
While we as humans may need to do this over and over again as the memory and pain return to our minds, the principle of forgiving 70* 7 in Matthew 18:22.
Perhaps in the kingdom, we will be able to do this perfectly as God does.
In the meantime, it takes much more love to be hurt and choose to set aside grievances multiple times than it would to erase an incident from our memories, if that were possible.
And interestingly, the more we love one another, the easier it becomes to lay aside grievances and truly forgive as God forgives us.

Archaeologists say writings on an ancient tablet confirm there was a global flood.
A group of Chinese explorers say they found Noah’s famed boat now.
People have been looking for Noah’s ark on that arrow.
Right.
[Music] Tucked away in the wild eastern area of Turkey between the towering peaks of Mount Ararat lies a place that is both mysterious and fascinating.
For centuries, Christians, archaeologists, and explorers have been fascinated by the mysterious story of Noah’s ark.
Furthermore, there are also speculations circulating that an ancient ark was discovered in Turkey and that portions of it have been unearthed for the first time ever.
What then might this be?
Why does the world consider it to be so important?
In this episode, we will explain in more detail.
Smash that thumbs up button for me.
Leave me a comment below and share this video with your friends.
And let’s get started.
Did archaeologists really find the real Noah’s Ark?
Researchers from a trio of universities in Turkey and the United States spent about a year analyzing rocks and soil in the famous Duruper Formation on Mount Ararat, the highest mountain in Turkey.
Ka said, “However, human activity is not supported by the Bible.”
The Durupin Formation has been considered a potential resting place for the ark for many years and has received widespread attention from those hoping to find Noah’s ark.
Despite the hype, archaeologists have consistently asserted over the years that the formation is natural, not the result of a petrified shipwreck, and there is no geological record about a global flood like the one described in religious texts.
Some believe more localized flooding is possible, but that too is controversial.
Ark structure and materials.
The ark is one of the most iconic religious symbols in the world.
Flood legends exist everywhere people are found with more than 200 cultures around the world preserving some type of flood or ark story.
God said to Noah, “Make an ark of gopherwood 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high.
Do it with the lower, second, and third decks.
For behold, I will bring a flood upon the earth.”
Noah did this.
He did all that the Lord commanded him.
From Genesis 6 ESV, the Bible narrates the account of Noah, who God commands to build a massive ark.
The goal is to save his family and a couple of animals from a great flood that is intended to eradicate evil on Earth.
Ancient traditions even mention an accessible ark with an annual festival to commemorate its arrival.
People have used bits of the ark as amulets in the past.
In Genesis 6:14 16, God provided Noah with explicit instructions for the ark structure.
The ark was planned to be massive, measuring 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high, 134x 22×13 m, or 447x 73 ft.
These measurements were based on the number 60 which appears in a similar ancient Babylonian narrative about a flood hero.
The ark was divided into three sections which reflected how ancient Israelites saw the world, heaven, earth, and the underworld.
Inside each section was as tall as the temple of Jerusalem, serving as a tiny representation of the universe.
Some believe the ark and tabernacle were intended to preserve human life.
Furthermore, the ark had a side door and what was known as a soar, which could have been a roof or skylight.
According to God’s instructions in Genesis 6:14 16, the ark was to be built from gopherwood, a sort of wood referenced only in this section of the Bible.
Inside, it was separated into chin, a name that normally refers to bird’s nests, but some believe it could allude to reads.
The ark was also intended to be covered in coper which is pitch or bumen the mystery of the ark’s location.
Over the last century, numerous persons have claimed to have located Noah’s ark with an emphasis on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.
According to the Bible, the ark rested on the highlands of Ararat following a 150day flood approximately 5,000 years ago.
However, it is confusing to imagine how a wooden construction could resist the weather for almost 4,000 years, especially given Mount Ararat’s volcanic activity up to 1840.
Despite these hurdles, the search for the ark and alleged sightings continue.
Some believe its discovery will occur if it is in accordance with God’s plan.
Recent research reveals that human activity occurred near a boat-shaped feature on Mount Ararat between 5,500 and 3000 BC.
The journey to find Noah’s Ark.
Mount Assir offers an intriguing possibility.
Yet, Mount Ararat has garnered greater attention.
Expeditions to these mountains have spanned from informal hikes to meticulously planned explorations employing cuttingedge technology for scanning and surveying.
Despite the fervor and commitment of these explorers, conclusive evidence of Noah’s ark on Mount Ararat remains elusive.
It’s essential to recognize that these expeditions pose formidable challenges.
The geographic terrain of both Mount Nasser and Mount Ararat is daunting, characterized by severe weather, unpredictable landscapes, and political complexities.
Political instability in the region poses challenges for explorations.
Additionally, the passage of time has likely deteriorated any wooden structures that might have survived, exposing them to decay, snow, ice, landslides, and other natural processes.
The lack of solid archaeological evidence has also been a major obstacle.
Despite reports of various artifacts and anomalies, none have provided irrefutable proof of Noah’s arc’s existence.
Consequently, scholars, archaeologists, and theologians continue to debate the authenticity and accuracy of these findings.
Nevertheless, the mysteries surrounding Noah’s ark continue to captivate.
Historical accounts suggest possible remnants have been discovered.
Flavius Josephus, a first century Jewish historian, mentioned in his work, Antiquities of the Jews, that remnants of the ark were believed to still exist in the mountains of Armenia, likely referring to the broader Ararat region.
Marco Polo, the renowned Venetian explorer of the 13th century, also heard local tales during his travels through Armenia about a great mountain where the ark supposedly came to rest.
These accounts have added layers of intrigue to the legend of Noah’s ark.
Furthermore, the Odessa image dating back to the 6th century provided a significant clue.
Associated with King Abgar thief of Odessa, this artifact contained depictions believed by some to represent Noah’s ark.
This connection extends beyond the Ararat region into ancient Mesopotamia, deepening the mystery.
Historical narratives and accounts describing sightings of the ark at top Mount Ararat during certain seasons further bolster beliefs in its physical presence.
Contributing to the discourse are narratives from the notorian and Jacobite Christian sects.
Ntorian missionaries in the 9th century claimed to have seen remnants of the ark on Mount Ararat, while Jacobite Christians in the 13th century asserted similar sightings by one of their monks.
A pivotal moment occurred in the 16th century when Ottoman geographer Piri Race created the first world map pinpointing Noah’s arc’s location in the Ararat region, prompting renewed exploratory efforts.
Despite these compelling accounts, definitive evidence remains elusive.
The search took a significant turn in the late 1950s when NATO personnel discovered a boat-shaped formation near Turkeykey’s Doggoazit province close to Mount Ararat.
This discovery, approximately 500 ft in length and supported by aerial photographs, ignited global speculation about whether it could indeed be the ark’s final resting place.
Subsequent investigations in the early 1960s by Dr.
Arthur Brandenburgger’s team from Ohio State University using advanced imaging technology revealed a structure resembling a ship, further enhancing the site’s credibility.
Continuing the quest, American explorer Ron Wyatt conducted extensive expeditions in the 1970s and 1980s, employing metal detectors and subsurface radar to identify anomalies near the Durapanar site.
Notably, the discovery of drogue stones, which matched ancient descriptions used to stabilize ships, reinforced beliefs about the formation’s origin.
These findings, blending modern technology with ancient narratives, have made the Duruper site a focal point for enthusiasts, archaeologists, and theologians alike, eager to unravel one of history’s enduring mysteries.
Although the search for the ship is hazy, but we must ask ourselves, even if there is no sign of the ark, wouldn’t there have been some geographical proof of the floods to begin with?
In the 1990s, geologists William Ryan and Walter Pitman embarked on a pioneering mission that aimed to connect a massive ancient flood with the biblical narrative of Noah’s Ark.
Their focus was the Black Sea, a distinctive body of water whose mysteries they sought to uncover using cuttingedge marine technology.
What they unearthed was evidence of a dramatic and sudden change in salinity levels within the sea’s sedimentary layers.
This shift indicated a significant influx of fresh water into what had previously been a saltwater lake, transforming it into a sea.
Ryan and Pitman employed meticulous methods.
They analyzed geological data to identify signs of erosion, deposition, and salinization resulting from the inflow of seawater.
Radiocarbon dating of organic materials found in sediments such as shells, wood, and bones provided insight into their age.
Additionally, sediment cores extracted from the seafloor revealed the strategraphy and composition of the basin over thousands of years.
Their discoveries were then compared with historical accounts from various cultures, including the Sumerianss, Babylonians, Greeks, and Romans, all of which recounted similar flood events in their myths and legends.
The duo proposed a theory that rising waters breached a natural dam at the Bosperous Strait as the last ice age drew to a close and glaciers melted.
This breach caused fresh water from the Mediterranean to rush forcefully into what was then a freshwater lake, triggering an apocalyptic flood that expanded the Black Seas expanse by more than 30%.
This event submerged lands and likely led to significant displacements of ancient civilizations.
Ryan and Pitman’s findings not only hinted at a catastrophic flood, but also aligned with the timelines of various flood myths from diverse ancient civilizations.
This correlation sparked speculation that this flood event might have inspired the tale of Noah’s Ark and other legends.
The geological investigations went beyond merely identifying sedimentary layers.
Underwater explorations uncovered remnants of ancient structures and tools that pointed to past human habitation now submerged beneath the Black Sea’s depths.
Their research has ignited a plethora of questions and possibilities for historians, archaeologists, and theologians alike, reigniting interest in the region and its connections to legendary narratives.
Their work underscores the potential historical significance of submerged settlements in the Black Sea, bridging ancient myths with geological realities.
Noah to build an ark.
Genesis 6:14.
Make yourself an ark of gopherwood.
Make rooms in the ark and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
God had already determined that the wicked human population had to be destroyed and rebuilt through the family of Noah.
Here we read of the means by which God would save eight individuals from destruction.
He would save them through an ark.
The word ark is a translation of the Hebrew word teba which means a vessel.
The brown driver brigs Hebrew in English lexicon.
Expositors Bible commentary notes that the word focuses on the structure as an abode rather than its shape or size.
Veil 2 piri 83.
This floatable vessel was specifically designed to be living quarters for the eight human beings and the many animals that God would save.
God specifies that the ark was to be constructed of gopher wood.
It is not known exactly what kind of wood this was since there is no modern wood known as gopher wood.
It would have been a very strong wood that would be resistant to water.
Some speculate that this was an ancient name for cypress wood since cypress was often used to make ships in the ancient world.
The ark was to be covered in pitch to make it watertight.
It is interesting that a similar description is made in Exodus 2.
Three of the ark used to preserve the life of Moses from the Egyptian Pharaoh’s mandate.
Exodus 122.
It is hard not to compare the two arcs as the means of saving human beings.
Noah’s family and the Israelite nation in captivity and the work of Jesus Christ through whom salvation of all humanity is ultimately made possible.
Acts 4:12 1 Thessalonians 5:9.
The Apostle Peter makes the analogy of Noah’s family being saved through the water of the flood and baptism being a necessary prerequisite for salvation.
Do you have to be baptized to be saved?
Is it essential to be baptized in order to receive salvation?
What do the scriptures say about whether we have to be baptized to be saved?
What did Jesus Christ say about whether we have to be baptized to be saved?
Notice the commission given by Jesus Christ.
All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.
And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:18, 20.
These are the marching orders of the church of God to go preach, teach, and baptize.
In Mark’s gospel, Jesus states it even more decisively.
Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:15 16 italics added throughout.
So, the answer is yes.
One must be baptized to be saved.
Baptism is the term normally used to refer to a two-part ceremony.
Water baptism by complete immersion followed by the laying on of hands for receiving the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:14 17 Acts 195 6.
The ceremony takes place once a person has repented of his or her sins and determined to leave them behind and live a new life in Christ.
The teaching of the apostles about baptism.
Notice Peter’s exhortation on the day of Pentecost.
After he preached a powerful sermon on that day of the founding of the New Testament church, his listeners were impacted in their consciences and asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
Acts 2:37, “Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Peter’s response was decisive and immediate.
Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Verse 38.
Peter later wrote in the context of how God saved Noah from the waters of the flood.
There is also an antitype which now saves us.
Baptism, not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 3:21.
The Apostle Paul also taught the importance of baptism, showing that it pictures the death and burial of our old man in a watery grave and being raised to walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:3 4.
Now notice Paul’s comments a little later in the book of Romans.
But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if indeed the spirit of God dwells in you.
Now if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, he is not his.
And if Christ is in you through the Holy Spirit, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness.
But if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his spirit which dwells in you.
Romans 8:91.
Baptism pictures a key step in the conversion process that God commands.
We see from the above that water baptism pictures a key step in the process of conversion that God commands Christians to practice to receive the Holy Spirit.
God gives his spirit to those who are his and he will grant eternal life, salvation to his people in whom the spirit dwells when Jesus Christ returns to earth.
God gradually dries the earth.
Genesis 8:1 Then God remembered Noah and every living thing and all the animals that were with him in the ark.
And God made a wind to pass over the earth and the water subsided.
Noah, his family, and the animals survived in the ark for many months.
Living in the ark was probably not the most comfortable and ideal situation, but their lives were preserved from the destruction of the flood.
Now, we see God re-engage Noah and his family.
God’s remembering those on the ark does not imply that he forgot about them through the period of the flooding of the earth.
God’s remembering human beings denotes his concern and covenant love and loyalty to them.
One of God’s greatest promises to his servants is that he will not leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 3:18.
He did not command Noah to build the ark to preserve his family and the animals from the flood just to leave them stranded in the ark on a perpetually flooded earth.
God cared deeply for all on the ark and would use them to repopulate physical life on the earth.
After the 5 months of the flood, God caused a wind to pass over the earth and dry up the water.
Verse three reveals that the waters receded continually from the earth.
This indicates a gradual decrease of the water level.
This gradual decrease in the water level of the flood is probably the cause of some of the sedimentary rock we see on earth today.
Enoch taken by God.
Genesis 5:24.
And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
As we read the genealogy of the antidolivian patriarchs, we come across an interesting person, Enoch.
Enoch stands out from this list of patriarchs in Genesis 5 because we are told he walked with God.
Verses 22 24.
This descriptor is absent from the individuals immediately preceding and following Enoch.
The only individuals in this chapter who are specifically identified as having a relationship with God after Abel are Enoch and Noah.
Enoch lived in a historical era that was increasingly becoming wicked and violent.
He lived just three generations before the time of Noah when the wickedness of man was great in the earth.
Genesis 6:5.
And the earth was filled with violence.
Verse 13.
It is likely that wickedness already affected society in Enoch’s era.
Enoch’s faithfulness to God would have made him stand out and be unpopular.
This helps explain why we read that God did something very unusual with Enoch.
God took him.
In Hebrews 11:5, we get more information.
By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death.
King James version.
The word translated is from the Greek word metatthei, which means to transfer, to be carried away or removed.
Strong’s Hebrew dictionary.
The basic meaning is to be transferred from one location to another.
Many mistakenly interpret Genesis 5:24 and Hebrews 11.
Five to teach that Enoch was taken to heaven and never died.
But this is impossible since Hebrews 11:13 clearly says that these all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them a far off, emphasis added.
Verse 39 clarifies that none of the individuals in this faith chapter of the Bible receive the promise because all of God’s people will receive the promise together.
Verse 40.
We also have to remember that Jesus Christ clearly taught that no one has ascended to heaven.
John 3:13.
Since the scripture cannot be broken, John 10:35.
And Christ is the truth.
John 14:6.
It is impossible that Enoch was taken to heaven.
So what happened to Enoch?
Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death.
Hebrews 11:5.
Meaning that he was taken from a violent society.
Genesis 6:13 where he would likely have been killed like Abel by others who were jealous and angry at him for his righteousness and blessings.
It seems Enoch like Elijah was transferred to another geographical location on earth where he was protected and lived out the rest of his 365 years in safety from the evil that surrounded him.
Were the Ten Commandments around before Moses?
Did God reveal his laws from the beginning or were the Ten Commandments unknown until Si?
Were God’s ten commandments in effect before Moses?
God gave the Ten Commandments to the people of Israel from Mount Si about 2 months after Moses led them out of Egypt.
This is recorded in Exodus 21:17.
But was this the first time these laws were given to human beings?
Or were these commandments known to people long before Moses’ time?
The answer is found in a fascinating statement God made about Abraham recorded in Genesis 26 5.
Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
This is significant because Abraham was born hundreds of years before Moses received the law on Mount Si.
In order for Abraham to obey God’s commandments, statutes, and laws, he had to know what they were.
This means that Abraham was taught the laws directly from God or from others or possibly both.
God was not giving Moses a brand new law on Mount Si.
He was merely giving a codified or formal version of his law so that it could be used to govern the emerging nation of Israel.
Another reason we know that the law existed before Moses and Mount Si is that the Bible refers to sin many times before Moses.
Genesis 47 13:13 18:20 39 9 42 22 50 17 etc.
But what is sin?
The Bible defines sin very simply.
Sin is the transgression of the law.
1 John 3:4 King James version.
If sin is defined as transgressing or breaking law, then law has to exist prior to the sin.
Paul wrote clearly that where there is no law, there is no transgression.
Romans 4:15.
You can’t transgress the law without there being a law to transgress.
So all the individuals who are described as sinning in the book of Genesis broke the law hundreds of years before it was later codified on Mount Si.
The Ten Commandments were known and understood long before Moses was born.
The Ten Commandments before Moses.
Let’s explore examples of the ten commandments being understood long before they were codified in Exodus 20.
The first and second commandments.
The first and second commandments state, “You shall have no other gods before me, God, and you shall not make for yourself a carved image.
You shall not bow down to them, nor serve them.”
Exodus 23:5.
God worked with the patriarch Jacob hundreds of years before Moses.
After God spoke to Jacob, notice what he did with the idols that were among his household.
Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethl and dwell there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”
And Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him.
Put away the foreign gods that are among you, “Purify yourselves and change your garments.
Then let us arise and go up to Bethl, and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and has been with me in the way which I have gone.”
So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the earrings which were in their ears.
And Jacob hid them under the terabenth tree, which was by Sheckchum.
Genesis 35:14.
Jacob understood that idols were sinful, and only the true God was to be worshiped.
He understood the commands that later were called the first and second commandments.
To learn more about these commandments that teach us to put God above everything else, read the first commandment and the second commandment.
The third commandment.
The third commandment says, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.”
Exodus 27.
Most scholars believe the patriarch Job lived before Moses, perhaps during the patriarchal period around the time of Abraham and Isaac.
Job was concerned that his children might have been taking God’s name in vain, and he knew that was wrong.
So it was when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, his children, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all.
For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.”
Thus Job did regularly.
Job 1:5, the fourth commandment.
The fourth commandment tells us to remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exodus 28.
But embedded in the command is the truth that the Sabbath existed long before this commandment was given to Moses.
You can only remember something that already existed.
To remember the Sabbath is to recall something that was established earlier.
The Sabbath day actually goes all the way back to the early chapters of the book of Genesis.
Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.
Genesis 2:3.
The Ten Commandments were known and understood long before Moses was born.
Interestingly, the Israelites were reminded to remember the Sabbath even before they came to Mount Si and received the Ten Commandments.
This was when God gave them mana to eat.
Then he Moses said to them, “This is what the Lord has said.
Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord.
Then Moses said, “Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord.
Today you will not find it mana in the field.
Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none.”
Now it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none.
And the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?”
Exodus 16:23-28.
So even before they arrived at Mount Si, God expected the people to rest and remember the Sabbath day.
The fifth commandment.
The fifth commandment instructs us to honor your father and your mother.
Exodus 2012.
Both Jacob and Esau had dishonored their parents.
But Jacob finally did obey.
Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Padanam to take himself a wife from there.
And that as he blessed him, he gave him a charge, saying, “You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan.”
And that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother and had gone to Pad and Aaram.
Genesis 28:67.
Emphasis added.
The sixth commandment.
The sixth commandment instructs us, “You shall not murder.”
Exodus 2013.
We see this all the way back in the early chapters of Genesis.
God told Cain he was to rule over his anger and avoid sin.
So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry and why has your countenance fallen?
If you do well, will you not be accepted?
And if you do not do well,
