This Ancient Mummy’s DNA Is NOT HUMAN — Scientists Are STUNNED!

namht

Scientists have studied mysterious remains,  unusual skeletons, and strange DNA results that have sparked serious questions about  the past.

Some discoveries have even led   people to wonder whether these ancient beings  were truly human.

But what does the evidence actually reveal?

Could there be a scientific  explanation behind these shocking claims,   or is something important still waiting to  be uncovered?

The truth may be stranger than anyone expected.

So join us in this video  as we dive in and unravel the details.

The Ancient Mummy That Turned Out  to Be Something Nobody Expected  One of the earliest Egyptian bodies ever studied  was a man buried in a simple pit grave at Gebelein around 3400 BC.

He was not wrapped in linen.

Instead, the hot, dry desert sand naturally preserved his body.

When he arrived at the British  Museum more than a century ago, visitors nicknamed him Ginger because of his reddish hair.

Today, he  is known as the Gebelein Man.

Modern scans later revealed that he died young from a stab wound  in his back.

But sometimes, discoveries take a completely unexpected turn.

Researchers may open,  scan, or examine an ancient mummy only to find that it is nothing like what everyone believed.

And that is exactly what happened in Israel during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On June 29, 2020, a small  team gathered inside a control room at the Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, watching images  appear on a CT scanner.

The object being examined was not a living patient.

It was a small bundle,  shaped like a swaddled child, measuring about 18 inches long and wrapped in ancient linen.

It had  been part of the collection at the Haifa Museums for around 50 years.

According to the museum  records, it contained a mummified human heart.

Beside it was another, smaller bundle, measuring  about 10 inches long.

Its records also claimed that a preserved human heart was inside.

At first,  this did not seem particularly unusual.

Ancient Egyptians believed the heart was the center of  thought, memory, and personality.

They generally   tried to preserve it inside the body because  they believed it would be weighed against the feather of truth in the afterlife.

Therefore,  a museum label claiming that a mummy contained a preserved heart seemed perfectly reasonable.

However, in 2020, with museums closed because of the pandemic, museum director Adi Shelach and  collections manager Ron Hillel decided to use the quiet period to examine objects whose histories  were unclear.

They wanted to discover what these items really contained instead of simply trusting  old records.

The two mysterious bundles quickly became part of their investigation.

There was just  one problem.

The museum’s older records were not always reliable.

Hillel explained that decades  ago, objects were not documented as carefully as they are today.

Items changed hands, labels were  copied, and guesses were sometimes repeated until they became accepted as facts.

To uncover  the truth, the team needed a medical scan.

Hospital radiologists examined the bundles without  removing a single thread of linen.

What appeared on the screen left the team facing a surprising  discovery.

The larger bundle, shaped like a baby with what looked like a child’s face, contained no  human bones, heart, or tissue whatsoever.

Instead, it was made of mud mixed with grain.

The supposed  human mummy was actually a corn mummy, also called a grain mummy.

These were ritual objects made  from earth and seeds, shaped into human forms to represent Osiris, the ancient Egyptian god  associated with death, resurrection, and rebirth.

What museum records had described as a preserved  human heart was something entirely different.

Yet this discovery was only the beginning of the  mystery surrounding these two ancient bundles.

Before we go further, let us understand what a  mummy really is, and why they are given that name.

The Strange Science Behind Ancient Mummies When people hear the word mummy, they usually picture an ancient Egyptian body wrapped in linen  and hidden inside a tomb.

But mummies are not limited to Egypt, and not all of them were created  in the same way.

A mummy is a human or animal whose soft tissues and organs have been preserved  instead of completely breaking down.

This can happen naturally through extreme cold, dry air,  low humidity, or a lack of oxygen.

In other cases, people deliberately preserved bodies using special  techniques and chemicals.

What makes mummies so fascinating is how widely they appear throughout  human history.

Preserved human and animal remains have been discovered on nearly every continent.

Some were created for religious reasons, while others survived simply because the surrounding  environment prevented them from decaying.

In ancient Egypt alone, researchers have discovered  more than a million animal mummies, including cats and sacred ibises.

These discoveries reveal  just how important animals were in Egyptian religious traditions.

And Egypt was not the  only place where people practiced mummification.

Ancient cultures in parts of Asia, Australia, and  the Americas also developed ways to preserve the dead.

Some remains survived for thousands of  years under unusual environmental conditions.

The Spirit Cave mummy, discovered in Nevada,  was dated to more than 9,400 years old, making it one of the oldest known examples  of deliberate human mummification.

Meanwhile, the Chinchorro people of what is now Chile were  preserving their dead thousands of years before the height of ancient Egyptian civilization.

These  discoveries show that mummification was not one single tradition practiced by one civilization.

Different peoples developed different methods, often for different reasons.

Some wanted  to protect the dead for the afterlife,   while others followed cultural traditions that  connected the living with their ancestors.

But here is where things become especially  interesting.

Not every object that looks like   a mummy actually contains a human body.

Some were created as religious symbols, while others contain animal remains or unexpected  materials.

That means scientists cannot rely on appearance or old museum labels alone.

They must examine the evidence carefully.

And when researchers use modern technology  to look inside ancient remains, the results can challenge beliefs that have survived for  decades.

Sometimes, the biggest mystery is not whether a mummy is human, but what it was  really made to represent.

What ancient belief   explains why Egyptians created these mysterious  figures from mud?

Keep watching to find out.

The Ancient Egyptian God Behind  the Mysterious Corn Mummy  To understand why ancient Egyptians wrapped mud  and seeds like a royal body, we first need to look at the story of Osiris.

In Egyptian mythology,  Osiris was a king assassinated by his own brother, Seth, who tore his body apart.

His wife, Isis,  searched for his remains and gathered the pieces together.

She then brought him back to life long  enough to conceive their son, Horus.

Afterward, Osiris became the ruler of the underworld,  where the dead were believed to go.

But the story of Osiris meant much more than death.

Every  year, when the Nile flooded and the surrounding fields became green again, Egyptians saw a  powerful connection between his resurrection and the return of life to the land.

Plants grew  from the soil, crops flourished, and what had seemed lifeless became full of life again.

During  festivals honoring Osiris, priests created special figures using clay or sand mixed with grain.

They added water and allowed the seeds to sprout, turning the figures into symbols of life returning  after death.

These objects became known as corn mummies or grain mummies.

Once prepared, they  were wrapped like ordinary mummies and sometimes given small masks before being buried with  religious ceremonies.

To the ancient Egyptians, they represented the belief that death did not  have to be the end.

However, the larger bundle discovered in Israel was not the only object  hiding a surprising secret.

The smaller bundle also turned out to be something completely  different from what its museum label claimed.

Inside was a real body, but it did not belong  to a human.

Instead, researchers discovered a beautifully preserved bird, most likely a falcon.

This was no random choice.

Falcons held great religious importance in ancient Egypt because they  were associated with Horus, the sky god and son of Osiris.

Horus was also connected with kingship  and the protection of the pharaohs, making falcons important animals in Egyptian religious  traditions.

Yet the bird contained another mystery.

Researchers discovered that its left leg  was missing, and they could not explain why.

Dr.

Marcia Javitt, head of medical imaging at Rambam,  acknowledged that the reason remained unknown.

The bird’s neck also appeared to have been broken,  probably after its death, while some of its organs were missing.

Investigations indicated that both  objects were genuinely ancient, likely dating to between 2,000 and 3,000 years ago.

The problem  was not the objects themselves, but the inaccurate museum records describing them as human remains.

Animal mummies were produced in enormous numbers throughout ancient Egypt.

Archaeologists have  uncovered burial sites containing millions of mummified animals, including ibises, falcons,  cats, and dogs.

Some were offered to the gods by worshippers, while others were buried  alongside the dead for religious purposes.

The team planned to use radiocarbon dating to  establish more precise ages for the two bundles.

Still, one important question had already  been answered: neither bundle contained a   human heart.

But the world of mysterious mummies  held another case that would attract even greater attention.

Its name was Ata.

What was the  story of Ata?

Stay tuned to find out more.

Ata: The Tiny Skeleton That Made  the World Question Human Origins In 2003, a discovery in Chile’s Atacama Desert  sparked one of the strangest mysteries in modern history.

A man named Oscar Muñoz was exploring  La Noria, an abandoned mining settlement, when he came across a small bundle  wrapped in white cloth and tied   with a purple ribbon.

Inside was a partially  mummified skeleton measuring just six inches long.

Its unusual appearance immediately raised  questions.

The skull was long and cone-shaped, the face was narrow, and the body was far  smaller than people expected.

Before long,   some began asking whether this could be  evidence of something not from Earth.

The remains became known as Ata, and their unusual  appearance quickly attracted attention from UFO enthusiasts.

Some believed the tiny skeleton  belonged to an extraterrestrial being rather than a human.

Its small size and strange proportions  seemed to support their suspicions.

However, there was a major problem with this theory.

Nobody had produced reliable scientific evidence proving that Ata came from another planet.

Despite that, speculation continued to grow, and the mystery eventually reached an  international audience.

In 2013, Ata became a major part of a documentary called Sirius,  directed by Amardeep Kaleka and produced by UFO researcher Steven Greer.

The film presented the  remains as a possible extraterrestrial discovery.

It also featured genetic testing conducted with  the involvement of Garry Nolan, a geneticist at Stanford University who agreed to examine the  unusual skeleton.

People hoping for evidence of alien life were eager to learn what the tests  would reveal.

The preliminary results, however, challenged the entire story.

Nolan’s early DNA  analysis concluded that Ata was human, finding no evidence to support claims of extraterrestrial  origins.

Instead of confirming the alien theory, the scientific investigation pointed toward a much  more complicated human mystery.

In March 2018, Nolan and his colleagues published a study  based on whole-genome sequencing.

Their findings indicated that Ata was a human fetus that had  been born prematurely or had died before birth.

The researchers also identified genetic  variations associated with skeletal development.

These findings offered a possible  explanation for the remains’ unusual appearance, although questions remained about how the  different abnormalities had developed.

Later   that year, another international research team,  led by bioarchaeologist Siân Halcrow, challenged aspects of the genetic interpretation.

However,  the researchers also concluded that Ata was human.

The debate was not about whether the remains came  from an alien anymore, but about how scientists should interpret the evidence and the unusual  features of the skeleton.

Further examination revealed several details that made Ata appear  even stranger.

The skull had an unusual shape, and the skeleton had only ten ribs rather than  the twelve typically found in adult humans.

Some researchers suggested that the remains showed  signs of a skull-development condition.

Anatomist and paleoanthropologist William Jungers argued  that the open skull sutures and incompletely developed bones in the hands and feet supported  the possibility that Ata was a prematurely born human fetus.

Nolan proposed that a combination of  genetic disorders might explain the abnormalities.

Other specialists also considered possible  skeletal-development conditions, while noting that one disorder alone might not explain every  feature.

The DNA provided another important clue.

Researchers identified a mitochondrial DNA  pattern known as haplogroup B2, which helped connect Ata to Indigenous populations of western  South America.

This finding offered evidence about the remains’ geographic ancestry, rather than  anything extraterrestrial.

The genetic study identified 64 unusual mutations across seven genes  associated with the skeletal system.

Some were linked to conditions affecting bone development,  while others were associated with abnormalities involving the muscles and skeleton.

The  researchers described this combination as unusual, highlighting how much there was still to learn  about the genetic factors involved.

Despite the attention surrounding Ata, no credible scientific  evidence has established an extraterrestrial origin.

The remains were also found to be much  more recent than some early claims suggested, with estimates placing them as late as the  nineteen seventies.

In the end, DNA did not reveal an alien visitor.

It revealed a human  fetus with extraordinary abnormalities, leaving scientists with a difficult medical and genetic  puzzle rather than proof of life beyond Earth.

But   did every scientist agree with the DNA results,  or was something overlooked?

Let’s find out.

The Scientists Who Challenged the DNA  Study and Raised a Bigger Question Just when the DNA results seemed to offer  an explanation for Ata’s unusual appearance, another group of scientists stepped forward with a  very different interpretation.

In September 2018, an international research team led by Siân  Halcrow, an associate professor of bioarchaeology at New Zealand’s University of Otago, published  a study challenging important conclusions from the earlier investigation.

Their findings raised  questions not only about the skeleton’s unusual features but also about how the genetic evidence  had been interpreted.

Halcrow and her colleagues argued that several features described as skeletal  abnormalities could actually be explained by normal fetal development.

They suggested that the  shape of the skull might have resulted from the pressures experienced during birth, while other  unusual details could have developed after death.

In their view, the earlier researchers had  not convincingly demonstrated the collection   of skeletal abnormalities they claimed to have  identified.

The team also expressed skepticism about the genomic conclusions.

Their criticism  did not mean that Ata was an alien.

In fact, they agreed that the remains were human.

Their  disagreement centered on how the skeleton’s   features should be interpreted and whether the  genetic findings supported the conclusions drawn from them.

But the controversy soon moved beyond  scientific disagreement.

Halcrow’s team raised serious ethical concerns about the way Ata had  been studied.

They argued that researchers must consider the dignity of the deceased and the  interests of descendant communities before conducting investigations involving human remains.

Without proper care, they warned, studies like these could repeat harmful practices associated  with colonialism, when human remains were sometimes removed, examined, or displayed without  the consent of the communities connected to them.

The controversy placed the journal Genome  Research, which had published the earlier study, under scrutiny.

The journal responded  that its existing ethical standards did not clearly cover specimens whose biological  origins were uncertain, such as Ata.

However, it also announced that it intended to review  its policies concerning similar research.

The   authors of the earlier study later acknowledged  the ethical concerns and supported the return of the remains to the appropriate community.

They  also explained that their involvement had been limited to analyzing a tiny bone sample measuring  approximately one cubic millimeter.

According to their response, the sample had been removed by the  team behind the Sirius documentary in Spain.

The senior researchers and their laboratories had not  personally handled the skeleton or participated in its original acquisition, removal, or  export.

They further explained that when their investigation began, they did not know for  certain that the specimen was human, and its age had not yet been established.

They maintained  that their goal was to investigate the mystery, not encourage unethical treatment of human  remains.

The debate surrounding Ata revealed an important lesson: scientific discoveries  are not judged by unusual results alone.

Researchers must also consider whether their  conclusions are supported by evidence and whether the methods used to obtain that evidence respect  the people connected to the remains.

Although the alien theory lacked credible scientific support,  Ata’s story continued to raise difficult questions about genetics, human development, and the  responsibility scientists carry when studying   the dead.

So, who owned Ata, and how did the tiny  skeleton leave Chile?

Keep watching to find out.

The Shocking Journey of Ata: From the  Chilean Desert to Private Ownership While scientists debated Ata’s unusual appearance  and what the DNA could reveal, another troubling part of the story began attracting attention.

The  mystery was no longer just about the skeleton’s identity.

People also wanted to know how the  remains had been handled, who owned them, and whether they should ever have left Chile in  the first place.

After discovering Ata in 2003, treasure hunter Oscar Muñoz reportedly sold  the remains for approximately 30,000 Chilean pesos.

The tiny skeleton then passed into private  ownership before eventually being taken to Spain.

There, a businessman named Ramón Navia-Osorio  acquired it and became its owner.

For years, the remains stayed in private hands.

In 2013, they  were made available for scientific examination, giving researchers the opportunity to investigate  the unusual skeleton.

That work eventually led to the whole-genome sequencing study published  in 2018, which helped establish that Ata was human and offered possible explanations for its  unusual physical features.

However, the scientific attention also brought uncomfortable questions to  the surface.

How had the remains been removed from their original location?

Had the necessary legal  requirements been followed?

And should a human fetus discovered in Chile have been taken abroad  and kept in a private collection?

These questions became serious enough that Chilean authorities  investigated in 2018 whether Ata had been removed from the country illegally.

At the same time,  bioarchaeologists, anthropologists, and other researchers called for the remains to be returned  to Chile.

Their concerns went beyond ownership.

They believed the investigation needed  to consider the dignity of the deceased   and the connection between human remains and the  communities from which they came.

Even some of the scientists involved in studying Ata acknowledged  these concerns.

Geneticist Garry Nolan and physician-scientist Atul Butte supported returning  the remains to Chile, recognizing that the ethical questions surrounding the specimen deserved  attention.

The situation exposed a difficult side of scientific discovery.

A remarkable find can  provide valuable information about human biology, but that does not automatically settle questions  about who has the right to possess or study it.

Scientific curiosity must also be balanced with  respect for human remains, cultural heritage, and the laws governing archaeological discoveries.

Ata’s journey from an abandoned settlement in the Atacama Desert to a private collection in Spain  showed how quickly a mysterious discovery can become an international controversy.

And while  DNA helped answer questions about the skeleton’s biological identity, it could not resolve every  issue surrounding its treatment.

In the end, Ata was not proven to be an extraterrestrial  being.

Instead, its story became a reminder that the mysteries surrounding ancient remains  involve more than science alone.

They can also involve history, ownership, ethics, and the  responsibility to treat the dead with respect.

But could another bizarre mummy expose an even  bigger mystery about human DNA?

Let’s find out.

The Three-Fingered Mummy Hoax and the  DNA Discovery That Changed Everything Not every shocking discovery involving  mummies turns out to be real.

In 2017, strange bodies began attracting attention  through the Inkari Institute in Cusco,   Peru.

The organization presented itself as a  center for archaeological research, and the remains were reportedly discovered near Nazca, a  region famous for its enormous desert drawings.

One specimen, nicknamed Maria, had three unusually  long fingers on each hand, three toes on each foot, an elongated skull, and no visible ears  or nose.

French explorer Thierry Jamin, who led the institute, suggested that Maria might be a  hybrid between humans and another species.

Claims of unusual DNA quickly spread online, fueled by  UFO websites, documentaries, and videos watched by millions.

In 2023, similar three-fingered  bodies were even presented at a public hearing in Mexico’s Congress.

But scientific investigations  told a very different story.

Peruvian forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada explained that  some specimens had been deliberately altered.

Bones had been removed from the hands to  create the appearance of three fingers, while extra bones were added to lengthen the toes.

Other figures seized by Peruvian authorities were described as dolls assembled from animal bones  and modern synthetic glue.

Rather than revealing an unknown species, these objects appeared to  be manufactured constructions, some potentially incorporating human remains taken from ancient  graves.

The case became a warning about how easily sensational claims can spread when unusual-looking  objects are presented without reliable evidence.

It also raised a more disturbing issue.

Human  remains can be taken from their original resting places and turned into spectacles for attention  or profit.

Before accepting claims about alien mummies, scientists must examine the evidence  carefully and consider whether the remains have been manipulated.

Yet rejecting a hoax does not  mean every mummy mystery is meaningless.

Genuine genetic discoveries have revealed surprising  chapters of human history.

And one particularly remarkable case emerged not from an alien  conspiracy, but from the Sahara Desert.

If those   strange mummies were fake, what real DNA mystery  was hiding in the Sahara?

Stay tuned to find out.

The Green Sahara: Where Two  Ancient Women Changed Human History In southwestern Libya, near the Algerian border,  a rocky shelter called Takarkori lies beneath towering sandstone cliffs.

Today, reaching this  remote location requires a difficult journey across an unforgiving desert.

But thousands of  years ago, the Sahara looked completely different.

Between approximately 14,500 and 5,000 years ago,  during a period known as the African Humid Period, much of the region supported grasslands, lakes,  rivers, and wetlands.

Hippos, elephants, giraffes, and crocodiles lived in places now covered  by sand.

Human communities hunted, fished, gathered plants, and eventually raised livestock.

The rocks of the Tadrart Acacus region still preserve evidence of this lost world.

Thousands  of paintings and engravings show animals, cattle, dancers, swimmers, and people living alongside  their herds.

Between 2003 and 2006, archaeologists excavated the Takarkori rock shelter and uncovered  the remains of 15 people, including women and children.

Two women had been naturally mummified  by the conditions inside the shelter.

They lived approximately 7,000 years ago, and parts of their  skin, tendons, and other tissues survived.

That preservation became incredibly important.

Heat  destroys DNA over time, breaking it into fragments that can be difficult to analyze.

For years,  researchers struggled to recover enough ancient genetic material from people who had lived in the  Sahara.

Eventually, improved DNA technology made it possible to reconstruct the genomes of the two  women.

The findings, published in Nature on April 2, 2025, revealed something remarkable: their  ancestry belonged to a deeply separated North African human lineage that scientists had not  previously documented through ancient genomes.

This was not evidence of aliens or a species  outside humanity.

These women were Homo sapiens, just like us.

What made them extraordinary was  the genetic history they carried.

The research, led by scientists including Nada Salem of the Max  Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, suggested that this lineage had separated from  other ancestral populations a very long time ago and remained largely isolated for thousands of  years.

Imagine humanity as a giant family tree.

Scientists already know many of its branches,  but these two women revealed a branch that   had remained hidden from genetic research.

Their closest identified ancient relatives included people who lived around 15,000 years  ago at Taforalt, a cave in what is now Morocco.

The discovery challenged the idea that the Green  Sahara was necessarily a major corridor where populations from northern and sub-Saharan  Africa frequently mixed.

Despite the green landscape and opportunities for travel, the  Takarkori people showed remarkably little genetic mixing with outside populations.

Their DNA also raised questions about how herding spread across the Sahara.

By around 7,000  years ago, these communities were already raising animals.

Researchers had previously considered the  possibility that herding arrived mainly through migrations from the Near East.

However, the  genetic evidence showed little sign of substantial ancestry from those incoming populations.

This suggests that knowledge and practices may have spread between neighboring communities  through contact and exchange, rather than through large-scale population replacement.

Another  intriguing finding involved Neanderthal ancestry.

The women carried small traces of Neanderthal  DNA, although considerably less than many ancient populations outside sub-Saharan Africa.

This suggested that their distant ancestors had experienced some genetic contact with populations  carrying Neanderthal ancestry before their lineage remained largely isolated.

Still, important  questions remain unanswered.

Two genomes cannot reveal the complete history of an entire  population.

Researchers continue to investigate when this lineage separated from others, how  widely it spread, and what eventually happened to its descendants.

One possibility is that worsening  conditions and the return of desert environments around 5,000 years ago forced communities to move  and gradually mix with neighboring populations.

Some of their ancestry may survive among people  in North Africa today, although more research is needed to establish precisely how.

What makes this  discovery so important is that it rests on genetic evidence published in a peer-reviewed scientific  journal, allowing other researchers to examine and test the findings.

The ancient women were not  aliens, hybrids, or fabricated figures.

They were human beings whose DNA preserved evidence of a  previously undocumented chapter of North African history.

For around 7,000 years, that history  remained hidden inside their naturally preserved remains.

Modern science finally made it possible  to read part of their story.

What did these ancient women’s DNA reveal about humanity that  scientists never knew?

Keep watching to find out.

The Real Mystery Hidden Inside Ancient Mummies We began with a mummy that was not human at all: an Egyptian ritual figure made from mud and  grain.

We then encountered a sacred falcon, a tiny Chilean skeleton mistaken for an alien,  and three-fingered figures in Peru that raised serious questions about archaeological fraud.

But  the most remarkable discovery came from two women who lived in a Sahara that was once green.

Their  DNA revealed a deeply isolated human lineage that scientists had not previously identified through  ancient genomes.

We may never uncover every detail about these people or learn exactly what happened  to their descendants.

Yet their story proves that genuine discoveries can be more fascinating  than the wildest alien theories.

Sometimes, the greatest mystery is not whether ancient  remains belonged to something beyond humanity, but how much of our own human history is still waiting  to be discovered.

So, what are your thoughts about   the ancient mummy’s DNA which turned out not to be  human?

Let us know in the comments section below.

In the end, these ancient mummies prove  that real discoveries can be far stranger   than fiction.

Their DNA reveals secrets  of human history we are only beginning   to understand.
